Eight 10/100Mbps Ports

This unmanaged switch adds eight Fast Ethernet RJ45 ports to a home or small office network. It connects computers, laptops, smart TVs and other wired devices without any configuration. The compact housing fits on a desktop or mounts on a wall for flexible placement.

Silent Passive Cooling

The unit has no fans and draws minimal power, so it runs silently in a living room or bedroom. IEEE 802.3x flow control helps prevent packet loss during busy traffic periods. Auto negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX handle cable detection automatically.

10/100Mbps Speed Limit

Every port operates at a maximum of 100Mbps, which is sufficient for basic internet access and standard definition streaming. Buyers who need gigabit throughput for large file transfers or 4K media servers should choose a faster switch.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Monoprice 141711 switch on a wall, and what step is often missed?

Use the built-in wall-mount slots; the step people skip is securing the Cat5e or Cat6 cables so they do not pull the unit off the wall.

What maintenance or replacement will the Monoprice 141711 need later?

No scheduled maintenance is required; if a port fails, the whole unmanaged switch must be replaced.

What limit appears first on the Monoprice 141711 during sustained heavy traffic?

The 10/100 Mbps port speed and 2K MAC address table saturate before the 100 metre cable distance becomes a factor.
