What this cable does

This three-foot adapter cable converts a digital HDMI source into an analog VGA signal. It supports up to 1920x1080 resolution at 60Hz and is backward compatible with 720p, 1600x1200 and 1280x1024 modes. The built-in IC chip enables plug-and-play operation without external power or driver installation. It is designed for users who need to connect modern HDMI outputs to legacy VGA displays.

Unidirectional HDMI-to-VGA conversion

The cable works only from an HDMI source to a VGA input and cannot carry audio. It is not compatible with Blu-ray players or low-power HDMI ports found on Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display, Mac mini, PS5 and Apple TV. Buyers who need audio transmission or bidirectional signal flow should look elsewhere. The silver metal housing and braided nylon jacket provide durability for frequent connection cycles.

Build integration

The adapter requires an available HDMI output on the source device and a VGA input on the display or projector. It frees up the need for a separate active converter box and draws power directly from the HDMI port. The 3-foot length suits desktop-to-monitor runs but may be short for projector mounting. No additional cables or power adapters are required for video-only use.
