18-input 22-output USB audio interface
The Motu UltraLite-mk5 is an 18-input, 22-output USB audio interface with on-board DSP mixing and effects processing. It connects via hi-speed USB 2.0 and is compatible with USB 3.0 and iOS devices. The interface records at sample rates up to 192 kHz. It suits mobile recording and live performance setups needing 40 simultaneous channels.
Two combo XLR/TRS plus six line inputs
Two combo XLR/TRS inputs accept microphones, line-level sources and high-impedance guitars. Six additional line-level analog inputs and ten analog outputs handle outboard gear. 8-channel optical I/O supports 2-channel TOSLink, while RCA S/PDIF and MIDI I/O complete the digital connections. A headphone output provides direct monitoring without a computer.
CueMix 5 app and Performer Lite included
The CueMix 5 console application runs on Mac, Windows and iOS for stand-alone mixer control. Performer Lite workstation software is bundled for recording and production. On-board DSP applies reverb, 4-channel parametric EQ and dynamics to inputs and mix busses. Each output pair can carry a unique monitor mix with effects.

Questions about this item
What sample rate does the USB 2.0 interface support?
The USB 2.0 connection handles sample rates up to 192 kHz with ultra-low latency drivers that are audio class compliant.
What physical connections are needed for the eight optical channels?
The optical I/O uses ADAT lightpipe for eight channels and also accepts two-channel TOSLink cables for stereo digital connections.
How is the DSP mixing configured and what step is often missed?
Install CueMix 5 on your computer or iOS device, then route inputs to output pairs in the software; the step often missed is enabling the DSP effects on each mix bus before monitoring.
