Moxa

Moxa EDS-408A 8-port 10/100 managed switch 0-60°C

SKU CH-6EHG-DT2SV

An 8-port managed Ethernet switch with 10/100 BaseTx ports, VLAN, QoS and redundancy protocols for 0 to 60°C operation

  • Fast network recovery under 20 ms across 250 switches
  • Segments traffic with IEEE 802.1Q and port-based VLAN
  • Prioritises critical data through QoS support
  • Managed via web, CLI, Telnet, serial or Windows utility
  • Operates reliably from 0 to 60 °C

8-port managed switch for industrial networks

The Moxa EDS-408A provides eight 10/100 BaseTx ports in an entry-level managed chassis. It targets automation engineers who need deterministic Ethernet for PROFINET or EtherNet/IP systems. Redundancy protocols such as Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain deliver recovery below 20 ms across 250 switches.

Fanless operation from 0 to 60 °C

With no moving parts the unit runs silently across the full 0 to 60 °C temperature range. Low power draw suits cabinet installations where cooling airflow is limited. The rugged metal housing meets industrial EMC and shock requirements without active thermal management.

MXstudio and ABC-01 simplify deployment

The bundled MXstudio suite gives a visual topology map and batch configuration across the network. An optional ABC-01 USB tool backs up firmware and settings without a PC. Web browser, CLI, Telnet and Windows utility access cover every admin preference.

Questions about this item

How is the EDS-408A mounted and what wiring step is often missed?

The switch mounts on a standard DIN rail; the step often missed is connecting the redundant dual power inputs to separate sources so the alarm relay can signal a supply failure.

What maintenance or replacement will the EDS-408A need over time?

The fanless design has no moving parts to service; only the ABC-01 backup-configuration module may need replacement if its internal memory wears out after many write cycles.

Which limit appears first when all eight ports run sustained traffic at 100 Mbps?

The 100 Mbps per-port bandwidth ceiling is reached first; the 250-switch Turbo Ring recovery spec and 0–60 °C operating range remain within tolerance at that load.
