Claw A1M 1 TB storage upgrade

The MSI Claw A1M handheld receives a 1 TB M.2 2230 NVMe SSD upgrade installed by HIDevolution. The drive connects over PCIe 4.0 x4 for fast boot and load times. This accessory targets owners who want more capacity without opening the device themselves. It suits gamers and creators who carry large libraries on the go.

Capacity and headroom

The 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive holds dozens of modern titles and heavy project files. Sequential throughput handles game streaming and video scrubbing without bottleneck. Space runs out when multiple 100 GB plus games sit alongside raw footage archives. Users who need a second drive must look elsewhere because the chassis offers only one M.2 2230 slot.

Build integration

The upgrade arrives pre-installed with updated BIOS, drivers and stress-tested thermals using Gelid GC Extreme thermal interface material. No extra screwdrivers, cloning software or thermal pads are required. The single-slot design leaves the internal layout untouched and preserves the factory cooling solution. Windows 11 Home boots directly to the desktop ready for play.

Questions about this item

Will the 1 TB M.2 2230 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD fit alongside the existing 16 GB LPDDR5-6400MHz memory in the MSI Claw A1M?

The 1 TB M.2 2230 NVMe SSD occupies a separate storage slot and does not share space with the on-board 16 GB LPDDR5 memory, so both can remain installed together.

How can I confirm the 1 TB M.2 2230 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD is running at full speed after installation?

Run a CrystalDiskMark sequential read test; a result near the PCIe 4.0 x4 ceiling shows the drive is operating as intended.

Does the accessory pack include the 1 TB M.2 2230 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD only, or are mounting screws and a heatsink also supplied?

The accessory is the 1 TB M.2 2230 NVMe SSD itself; any mounting screw or thermal pad required for the Claw A1M chassis must be sourced separately.
