Katana 15 gaming laptop

The MSI Katana 15 is a 15.6 inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core i7 14650HX processor with 16 cores and 24 threads. It pairs that CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card equipped with 8 GB of GDDR7 memory. The system ships with 32 GB of DDR5 4800 memory and a 2 TB PCIe SSD. Windows 11 Pro and an Office 2021 licence are pre-installed.

Sustained load behaviour

The 16 core processor runs at a 2.2 GHz base frequency and can reach 5.2 GHz at maximum turbo, allowing the chassis to maintain high throughput during extended sessions. The 144 Hz FHD panel keeps motion sharp while the GPU and CPU share the thermal envelope. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E AX211 and Bluetooth 5.3 for stable wireless performance under load.

Thermals noise and power

The 15.6 inch form factor measures 14.13 by 10.31 by 0.99 inches and weighs 5.29 pounds, providing enough internal volume for the cooling system to manage the 16 core CPU and RTX 5050 GPU. A backlit keyboard and HDMI 2.1 output are included. The 802.11ac wireless LAN and Ethernet RJ45 port give flexible network options for daily use.
