Built for 1440p gaming

The Katana 15 pairs an Intel Core i7-14650HX with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7, driving a 15.6" QHD 165Hz panel. Sixteen cores and twenty-four threads at up to 5.2 GHz keep frame times tight in modern titles. It suits players who want high-refresh 1440p performance in a portable chassis.

Opened for 32 GB DDR5 and 1 TB PCIe SSD

Engineers break the factory seal to install the memory and storage upgrade, then run a full inspection before resealing. The result is double the stock RAM and a larger solid-state drive without user intervention. Windows 11 Home ships pre-installed on the upgraded drive.

Check charger and port needs

The machine draws power through a proprietary barrel connector, so spare chargers must match the original spec. Video output relies on a single HDMI port; multi-monitor users should verify that one external display is sufficient. No SD card reader is fitted, so photographers need a USB adapter.

Questions about this item

Can the 16 GB DDR5 memory be expanded to 32 GB later?

The laptop ships with 16 GB of DDR5; the platform supports up to 32 GB so a future upgrade is possible.

What thermal limit appears first when the i7-14650HX and RTX 5070 run at 5.2 GHz for hours?

Sustained load pushes the CPU toward its 5.2 GHz ceiling and the GPU toward its 8 GB GDDR7 frame buffer; whichever hits its thermal throttle point first will clock down.

How loud are the fans and how hot does the chassis get during an all-day gaming session?

The cooling system ramps fan speed to keep the i7-14650HX and RTX 5070 within safe temperatures; surface heat and noise rise noticeably under continuous load.
