15.6" 144Hz FHD gaming laptop

The MSI Thin A15 pairs a 15.6 inch 1920 x 1080 IPS-level display running at 144Hz with an AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS 6-core processor. It ships with 64GB DDR5 memory, a 2TB PCIe SSD and Windows 11 Home. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 4GB GDDR6 GPU handles 1080p gaming and creative tasks.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This machine suits buyers who want a thin 4.1 pound chassis with a high-refresh screen, large memory and fast storage for 1080p play and multitasking. Users needing a wider colour gamut than 45% NTSC, a brighter panel, or a higher-tier mobile GPU for 1440p should consider other models.

RTX 3050 4GB GDDR6 graphics

The single spec that decides fit is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU with 4GB GDDR6 video memory. It delivers entry-level ray-tracing capable performance at 1080p; if your workload demands more VRAM or higher compute throughput, this is not the right part.

Questions about this item

Does the 15.6 inch 144Hz IPS-Level display fit a standard 15.6 inch laptop sleeve?

The chassis measures 14.13 x 9.99 x .85 inches, so a sleeve sized for a typical 15.6 inch notebook will accommodate it.

How do I use the USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with DisplayPort and Power Delivery 3.0 for an external monitor?

Connect a USB-C cable that carries DisplayPort Alt Mode and PD 3.0; the port drives video up to 4K 120Hz via HDMI 2.1 and charges the laptop simultaneously.

When should I plan to replace the 64GB DDR5 memory or the 2TB PCIe SSD?

Both components are soldered or integrated; plan replacement only if a hardware fault appears, as user upgrades are not supported by the original seal design.
