Built for gaming and creative work

The MSI Vector 16 HX AI combines an Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX processor with 20 cores and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU with 12 GB GDDR7 memory. A 16 inch IPS display running at 1920 x 1200 resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate handles fast motion and detailed editing. 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 2 TB PCIe SSD provide capacity for large projects and game libraries. Windows 11 Home ships pre-installed.

Replaces older high-performance laptops

Moving from a machine with a previous-generation CPU and lower-tier graphics gives a clear uplift in frame rates and render times. The jump is worth it when current hardware struggles with 144 Hz gameplay at native resolution or when creative workloads exceed available memory bandwidth. The 12 GB GPU frame buffer and 32 GB system memory remove common bottlenecks in modern titles and content-creation pipelines.

Fits a portable workstation setup

Two Thunderbolt 5 compatible USB-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1 output and an RJ45 jack cover external displays, storage and wired networking without docks. The shared-pipe cooling design with Cooler Boost 5 manages thermals during sustained loads. At 5.95 lb the chassis remains portable enough for regular transport while delivering desktop-class performance on battery or mains power.

Questions about this item

What clearance and screw pattern does the 16 inch chassis need for a laptop cooler or stand?

The 16 inch chassis weighs 5.95 lb and uses standard bottom vents; choose a cooler that spans the full width and does not block the rear exhaust.

Which screw must be removed first to open the base for a RAM upgrade, and what torque should I use?

Remove the nine perimeter Phillips screws, then lift from the front edge; the DDR5 slots accept up to 64 GB total.

How often should the Cooler Boost 5 shared pipe and fans be cleaned to keep the RTX 5070 Ti at full boost?

Blow dust from the two fan intakes every 3 to 6 months; the shared pipe design moves heat from both CPU and GPU to the rear vents.
