Vector A16 16-inch QHD+ gaming laptop

The Vector A16 is a 16.0-inch Windows 11 Home laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor with 16 cores and 32 threads. It pairs that CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card carrying 12GB of GDDR7 memory. A 240 Hz IPS panel at 2560 x 1600 resolution and 16GB of DDR5 5600MHz system memory complete the core specification for high-refresh gaming and content work.

Sustained load behaviour

The 16-core processor runs at a 2.4 GHz base clock and can boost to 5.3 GHz across its 64MB L3 cache, while the dedicated RTX 5070 Ti operates within the chassis thermal limits set by a 330-watt AC adapter and a 90Wh battery. Under extended gaming or render sessions the system balances CPU and GPU clocks to stay within the cooling envelope rather than holding peak boost indefinitely.

Installation and common issues

The laptop ships fully assembled with a 1TB PCIe Gen 4x4 NVMe M.2 SSD and Windows 11 Home pre-installed, so no internal hardware steps are required for first use. Buyers sometimes expect user-replaceable memory or additional drive bays; the 16GB DDR5 is soldered and the single M.2 slot is occupied, limiting future upgrades to external storage or the second Thunderbolt 5 port.

Questions about this item

Will the 16 GB of DDR5 memory limit gaming performance at QHD+ resolution?

The 16 GB DDR5 5600 MHz module handles current titles at 2560 x 1600; the board supports up to 64 GB if you later need more headroom.

Does the single 1 TB NVMe SSD leave room for a second drive?

The chassis includes a second M.2 slot, so you can add another Gen 4x4 NVMe drive up to 4 TB total without removing the original.

Can the 330 W adapter charge the 90 Wh battery while the Ryzen 9 8940HX and RTX 5070 Ti run at full load?

Yes, the 330 W brick is sized for combined CPU and GPU peaks, so the battery charges even during heavy gaming sessions.
