Suits Chromebook and MacBook owners needing

Buyers whose laptops require more than 45 W or a proprietary barrel connector should look at something else. The adapter also charges compatible phones such as Galaxy S8 through S21 models.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 45 W model or a higher-wattage version?

This adapter tops out at 45 W; if your device needs more power you would need a different charger, but for the listed Chromebooks, MacBooks and phones 45 W is the maximum this unit delivers.

What does the 45 W rating actually give me when I plug it in?

At 20 V it supplies up to 2.25 A, at 18 V up to 2.5 A and at 15 V up to 3 A, so a compatible laptop charges at full speed while phones draw 15 W at 5 V or 27 W at 9 V.

Does the USB-C connector mean it works with every USB-C port?

The plug is USB-C but only devices that accept the listed voltages — 5 V, 9 V, 12 V, 15 V, 18 V or 20 V — will charge; check your device's spec sheet for a match.
