100 ft In-Wall Speaker Wire

This 14 AWG two-conductor cable is built for permanent audio runs inside walls, ceilings or vehicles. It connects speakers to amplifiers or receivers in home, car or office installations where a CL2-rated jacket is required by code.

80-strand CCA conductors

Each conductor uses 80 strands of 0.16 mm copper-clad aluminium, giving flexibility for pulling through studs while keeping material cost low. The clear PVC jacket lets installers verify polarity visually and the supplied spool simplifies storage and measured cuts.

Straightforward spool-based install

Pull the needed length from the spool, strip the ends and terminate at speaker and amplifier terminals. The only common issue is the aluminium core, which is softer than pure copper and can break if bent sharply or over-tightened at binding posts.

Questions about this item

Will the copper-clad aluminium conductors need replacement sooner than solid copper?

The cable uses 80 strands of 0.16 mm copper-clad aluminium; CCA has higher resistance than solid copper, so for long runs you may eventually want to upgrade to pure copper for lower loss.

What limits the usable length before signal loss becomes noticeable?

At 14 AWG with 80 strands of 0.16 mm CCA, resistance rises with distance; beyond roughly 100 ft the added loss can affect speaker damping and frequency response.

Does the clear PVC jacket get warm or emit any smell when the system runs all day?

The CL2-rated clear PVC jacket is designed for in-wall use and remains cool at typical speaker voltages; no heat or odour is produced under normal all-day operation.
