Speaker cable for in-wall audio

This 16 AWG speaker cable uses two conductors built from 64 strands of 0.16 mm copper-clad aluminium. The white PVC jacket carries a CL2 rating for in-wall installation. A 250 ft pull box supplies enough length for whole-home, car or office stereo wiring.

Pull box and CL2 rating change the install

The box lets you pull cable straight through studs without tangles and the clip keeps the remainder tidy for later runs. CL2 compliance means the jacket meets fire-safety requirements for residential walls, so you can route it behind plasterboard without extra conduit.

Suits multi-room installs needing CL2 bulk wire

Installers wiring several zones from a single amplifier will appreciate the long length and easy-pull packaging. Buyers who need oxygen-free copper conductors, a different gauge, or a shorter pre-terminated pair should look at other options.

Questions about this item

Will the copper-clad aluminum conductors need replacement sooner than solid copper wire?

Copper-clad aluminum resists corrosion similarly to copper in typical indoor installations, so the 16 AWG conductors should not require planned replacement during the life of the system.

At what run length does the 16 AWG gauge become the limiting factor for signal loss?

For typical 8-ohm speakers, 16 AWG is generally adequate up to about 50 feet; longer runs may show measurable attenuation, so keep individual speaker leads within that distance.

Does the white PVC jacket stay flexible and cool when the cable runs all day at moderate volume?

The PVC jacket remains pliable at room temperature and the cable carries only low-voltage audio current, so it produces no noticeable heat during continuous daytime use.
