Solid-core bulk cable for structured runs

NavePoint CAT5e UTP bulk cable uses solid 24 AWG copper-clad aluminium conductors in a blue jacket. The 250-foot length is intended for installers pulling cable through walls or ceilings. Four unshielded twisted pairs support standard Category 5e Ethernet links.

Suited to fixed building wiring only

This cable suits permanent infrastructure where the solid conductors stay still after termination. It is not for patch leads that flex daily, nor for Power over Ethernet loads that exceed CCA current limits. Buyers needing stranded conductors or pure copper should look elsewhere.

Conductor material decides the use case

Copper-clad aluminium carries the Category 5e signal but has higher resistance than solid copper. That resistance rules out long PoE runs and repeated movement. Verify the material matches the project specification before installation.

Questions about this item

Will the 24 AWG solid conductors handle continuous PoE loads without overheating?

The cable uses copper-clad aluminium conductors rated for standard Category 5e power levels; solid 24 AWG gauge limits voltage drop over long runs.

Which connectors and tools are required to terminate the raw cable?

You need RJ45 plugs rated for solid 24 AWG wire, a compatible crimp tool, and a cable stripper; no pre-fitted plugs are included.

Can the unshielded twisted pairs run beside legacy Cat 3 voice wiring without crosstalk?

Category 5e twist geometry suppresses near-end crosstalk well above legacy voice frequencies, so parallel routing with older telephone cable is reliable.
