NEC DSX IntraMail Voicemail Module

The NEC 1091011 DSX IntraMail adds integrated voicemail to DSX 40, DSX 80 and DSX 160 telephone systems. It installs directly onto the KSU or CPU card and provides four dedicated voicemail ports. The module suits small to medium businesses that need automated call answering without a separate server.

Sustained Call Handling

Four voicemail ports handle simultaneous call answering, recording and retrieval during busy periods. The CompactFlash storage holds up to eight hours of messages across all mailboxes. The system supports 128 subscriber mailboxes, 16 routing mailboxes and 8 ring group mailboxes for continuous daily operation.

Upgrade From Basic Answering

Replaces standalone answering machines or manual message taking with a centralised, system-integrated solution. The jump is worthwhile when call volume exceeds a single greeting capacity or when departments need separate routing and UCD group mailboxes. It does not suit organisations requiring more than four concurrent ports or storage beyond eight hours.

Questions about this item

Does the DSX IntraMail 4-port voicemail unit add noticeable heat or fan noise when running continuously in a DSX 160 system?

The module plugs directly into the DSX 40 KSU or DSX 80/160 CPU card and draws power from the host system, so it adds no separate fan or power supply and generates no additional audible noise.

Which DSX telephone system must I already own for the NEC 1091011 IntraMail card to function?

It requires a DSX 40, DSX 80 or DSX 160 KSU with a free CPU-card slot; the card will not operate on any other platform.

Will the 128 subscriber mailboxes and 16 routing mailboxes work with older analog handsets connected to my DSX 80?

Yes — the IntraMail card integrates with the DSX 80 KSU, so existing analog extensions keep their direct-dial and voicemail access while using the 8-hour message store.
