Genuine NEC Replacement Lamp

The NEC M420XG replacement lamp module arrives as a fully assembled unit with a new 265W UHP bulb already secured in its housing, allowing straightforward installation in compatible NEC projectors. It is intended for operators who need a direct, original-equipment light source without additional assembly steps. Buyers seeking a bare bulb or a third-party retrofit kit will not find that configuration here.

Sustained Output Characteristics

In normal operating mode the lamp is rated for 3,000 hours of use, while economy mode extends the rating to 3,500 hours, giving a clear indication of longevity under continuous projection rather than brief peak output. The 265W power draw remains constant during operation, so thermal load and brightness stay stable throughout each session. Facilities that run projectors for extended daily periods can plan maintenance intervals around these published figures.

Decisive Specification

The critical match criterion is the NP17LP part number combined with the 265W UHP specification; only projectors designed for this exact lamp module will strike correctly and maintain rated brightness and life. Using a different wattage or an incompatible housing will cause ignition failure or premature ageing. Verify the projector manual lists NP17LP before ordering.

Questions about this item

Does the 265W NP17LP lamp run hotter or louder than the original module after hours of continuous use?

The lamp draws the same 265W as the factory unit, so heat output and fan demand remain identical to the projector's original design.

My NEC M420XG projector is the only hardware I own — is anything else required to install this NP17LP lamp?

No extra parts or tools are needed; the lamp ships as a complete bulb-and-housing assembly ready to slide into the projector.

Will the NP17LP lamp work reliably in an older M420XG that has already logged thousands of hours?

Yes, the 265W UHP lamp is built to the same 3,000-hour normal and 3,500-hour economy ratings as the original, so it performs to spec in ageing units.
