Product and Audience

The NEC NP-M300X is a new 3LCD business projector delivering 3000 lumens brightness and a native 1024 x 768 resolution. It suits professionals who need a portable display for meetings, classrooms or travel presentations. The unit weighs 6.4 lbs and includes a USB port for direct media playback without a connected computer.

Suitability and Limits

This projector fits users who value simple setup and adequate brightness for lit rooms at XGA resolution. It is not for buyers who need higher native resolution such as 1080p or 4K, nor for installations requiring lens shift, motorised zoom or network-based management features.

Deciding Specification

The native resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels determines whether this model matches the content you plan to show. If your source material is designed for widescreen formats or demands finer detail, the XGA panel will not reproduce it faithfully.

Questions about this item

Does the NEC NP-M300X come with a USB stick or do I need to buy one separately?

The projector has a USB port that accepts a memory stick for direct playback of videos and photos; the stick itself is not included.

Should I choose the 3000 lumen or 3500 lumen brightness rating for a lit meeting room?

The unit is rated at 3000 lumens; the 3500 lumen figure is the upper end of the specification range, not a separate model.

Will the 1080p HD video mode look sharp on the 1024 x 768 native panel?

The projector accepts a 1080p signal and scales it to the 1024 x 768 native resolution, so the image fits the panel without cropping.
