The Netgear MS305E-100NAS is a 5-port 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet switch built for small offices and home offices that need faster wired links. It runs silent with a fanless metal case and draws 5.60 W from an external 12V 1.5A adapter. Smart management adds VLANs, QoS and jumbo frames without the complexity of a full Layer 3 stack.

Suits simple VLAN and QoS needs

Buyers who want basic traffic segmentation and prioritisation through a web browser will find the Plus feature set sufficient. Builders who need PoE to power cameras or access points should look elsewhere because this model supplies no Power over Ethernet. 2.5GBase-T on every RJ45

Each of the five RJ45 ports negotiates 2.5GBase-T down to 100 Mbps, giving a 25 Gbps non-blocking fabric. The 1 MB buffer absorbs bursts while Energy Efficient Ethernet cuts power on idle links. If your cabling or end devices only support 1 Gbps, the extra headroom goes unused.
