Unmanaged 10-port gigabit PoE+ switch with 8 powered ports, 2 uplinks, AI watchdog, VLAN isolation and 250 m extended reach
The NETGEAR ProSafe VM-0820GP-CA is a desktop unmanaged switch with 10 gigabit ports, eight of which deliver PoE+ power. A 120-watt budget feeds cameras, access points or VoIP phones over the same cable that carries data. Plug-and-play operation requires no configuration.
The one-key VLAN mode separates ports one to eight while keeping uplink paths open, useful for small surveillance or Wi-Fi rollouts. AI Watchdog restarts frozen ports automatically. Buyers who need SNMP monitoring, Layer 3 routing or a managed feature set should look at a managed switch instead.
Total PoE power is 120 watts across the eight PoE+ ports; the spec sheet does not break this down per port. Calculate the draw of every powered device before purchase to confirm the budget covers the load.
Measured against everything we stock in Ethernet & PoE Switches, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

| Maximum heat dissipation | 120 W |
Connect the power cable, link devices to the eight PoE+ RJ45 ports and the two uplink ports, then slide the Extend switch to On; the ports drop to 10 Mbps but reach 250 metres.
No moving parts to service; keep ventilation slots clear of dust and verify the total connected load stays within 120 watts.
The 120-watt PoE budget and 120-watt heat dissipation cap are reached before the 768 KB buffer or 9216-byte jumbo frames become bottlenecks.
