Each cable uses 24 AWG stranded pure copper conductors with S/FTP shielding and RJ45 connectors plated with 50 µm gold. The PVC jacket is CM rated and the cables are fully backward compatible with earlier categories.

S/FTP shielding and gold-plated RJ45 plugs

Individual foil shielding around each pair plus an overall braid shield reduces crosstalk and external interference at high frequencies. The connectors feature a snagless soft-flex push tab and moulded strain relief for easier insertion and removal in dense patch panels. Gold plating on the contacts helps maintain low resistance over repeated mating cycles.
