Two-pack DVI-D Dual Link cables

This two-pack supplies a pair of 6 ft DVI-D Dual Link male-to-male cables for connecting a computer with a DVI output to a monitor or projector that accepts a DVI-D Dual Link input. Each cable supports resolutions up to 3840 x 2400, covering 2560 x 1600, 2560 x 1440, 1920 x 1200 and 1080p. Gold-plated 24+1 pin connectors and ferrite cores are fitted to maintain signal quality. The cables are ready for immediate use with plug-and-play operation.

Build integration and cabling

Each cable terminates in a DVI-D Dual Link male connector secured by oversized thumb screws, so the only requirement on the host side is a DVI-D Dual Link port and on the display side a matching DVI-D Dual Link input. The six-foot length gives enough reach for typical desk or home-theatre layouts while the PVC jacket, braid shielding and per-pair foil shielding keep the digital signal clean. Using two cables from the pack lets you drive two separate DVI displays from a multi-output graphics card or add a cloned screen without swapping leads.

Upgrade context and limits

These cables replace older single-link DVI leads that cannot carry the bandwidth needed for 2560 x 1600 or 2560 x 1440 at 60 Hz, making the jump worthwhile when moving to a higher-resolution panel or adding a second high-resolution display. They do not convert to HDMI, DisplayPort or VGA, so systems without a native DVI-D Dual Link port will need a different cable or an active adapter. Buyers whose displays only offer HDMI or DisplayPort inputs, or who require longer runs than six feet, should look for a cable matched to those interfaces.
