15 m 48 Gbps HDMI 2.1 fiber cable

This Nippon Labs active optical cable carries HDMI 2.1 signals over 15 metres without signal loss. It supports 48 Gbps bandwidth for 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at up to 144 Hz. The cable is aimed at installers and enthusiasts who need long runs for digital signage, home theatre or gaming setups.

Before ordering check your ports

Verify that both source and display have HDMI 2.1 ports to use the full 48 Gbps bandwidth. The cable is backward compatible with HDMI 2.0 and 1.4 devices, but maximum resolution and refresh rate will follow the lowest common standard. Ensure the male-to-male connectors suit your equipment layout.

Thermals noise and power draw

The hybrid fiber construction uses an embedded chipset for signal conversion, drawing power from the HDMI ports themselves. No external power supply is required. The cable runs silently and produces negligible heat during normal operation, making it suitable for in-wall or conduit installations.

Questions about this item

Does the 15 m Nippon Labs SHDC-AOC-015 include everything needed for an 8K 60 Hz connection or must I buy a separate booster?

The box contains the 15 m fiber-optic HDMI 2.1 cable with male-to-male connectors and plug-and-play operation; no external power supply or signal booster is required.

Should I choose this 15 m 48 Gbps AOC cable or a shorter copper version for a 4K 120 Hz gaming setup?

At 15 m a copper cable cannot reliably carry 48 Gbps; this active optical cable maintains full 4K 120 Hz and 8K 60 Hz bandwidth over the entire length without signal loss.

What does the 48 Gbps rating actually deliver when the cable is installed behind a wall to a projector?

It carries uncompressed 8K at 60 Hz (7680×4320) or 4K at 120 Hz with Dynamic HDR, eARC audio and HDCP 2.2, so the projector receives every pixel and audio channel exactly as the source outputs it.
