Cat 8 braided cable for high-speed networks

This Cat 8 braided Ethernet cable is built for users who need reliable wired connectivity at up to 40Gbps and 2000MHz bandwidth. It suits gamers, streamers and office setups that demand low latency and stable throughput. The flat braided jacket resists tangling and slides easily under carpets or through tight gaps.

Practical limits of the Cat 8 standard

Cat 8 cabling is specified for short runs, typically up to 30 metres, before signal degradation becomes an issue. The 2000MHz bandwidth ceiling is only realised when every link component — router, switch and network card — also supports Cat 8 performance. Older hardware will negotiate down to its own maximum speed.

Capacity and headroom for typical workloads

At 6 feet the cable handles 40Gbps gaming, 4K streaming and large file transfers with ample margin. Runs approaching the 30-metre limit or connections through multiple patch panels may reduce headroom. Buyers needing longer permanent links should consider fibre or installed cabling instead.

Questions about this item

Which length should I choose from the available options?

The cable comes in 3, 6, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60, 75, 100, 150, and 200 FT lengths; pick the shortest run that reaches your device to minimise slack and potential signal loss.

What does the 40Gbps rating mean when the cable is plugged into my router or PC?

The 40Gbps figure is the Cat 8 maximum; actual throughput depends on your router, network card, and switch all supporting 25G or 40G Ethernet, otherwise the link will negotiate down to 10Gbps or 1Gbps.

What interface does the RJ45 connector use and what speed does it cap at?

The RJ45 plugs use the Cat 8 standard with 2000MHz bandwidth, capping at 40Gbps over the full 6 FT run when both ends negotiate 25GBASE-T or 40GBASE-T.
