Cat 8 S/FTP Cable for 40 Gbps Networks

This Cat 8 S/FTP patch cable delivers up to 40 Gbps over RJ45 connectors for servers, switches and high-end workstations. It supports 10GBASE-T, 25GBASE-T and 40GBASE-T channels and remains fully backward compatible with Cat 6A, Cat 6 and Cat 5e equipment.

Snagless RJ45 Boots and Strain Relief

Molded snagless boots and strain relief protect the latch during repeated insertions in dense racks. The S/FTP shielding resists alien crosstalk, but the 5 ft length limits use to short patch runs; longer links require a different cable.

30 Metre Two-Connection Channel Limit

The specification that decides fit is the 30 metre maximum channel distance for 25 Gbps or 40 Gbps operation with two connections. Exceeding this distance drops the link to lower speeds or requires fiber.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the cable is delivering 40Gbps after I plug it in?

Check the link speed reported by your switch or network adapter; it should read 40Gbps when both ends support that rate.

What connectors and shielding come with the 5ft cable and is anything else needed?

Two RJ45 plugs with snagless boots and S/FTP shielding are included; no extra parts are required for a standard connection.

Should I choose this Cat 8 cable over Cat 6A for a 25Gbps server link?

Yes, Cat 8 provides the 25Gbps bandwidth and 30-metre channel distance that Cat 6A cannot guarantee.
