Connect Legacy PS/2 Devices

This two-pack provides green and purple adapters that let you connect a PS/2 keyboard and mouse to a USB-A port on a computer, laptop or tablet for data transfer and input operations. The nickel-plated connectors resist friction and corrosion while the compact plastic, alloy and copper construction keeps the adapter easy to carry.

USB 1.1 Passive Limits

The adapter uses a passive USB male-to-female design without active signal conversion, so it only works with peripherals that natively support USB signalling over a PS/2-style connector. Devices that require true PS/2 protocol translation will not function, and no driver installation can overcome this hardware limitation.

Two-Pack Colour Coding

The green adapter is intended for a mouse and the purple adapter for a keyboard, matching the traditional PS/2 port colours so you can identify each connection at a glance. Buyers needing only a single adapter or a different connector style should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Should I buy the single adapter or the 2-pack?

The product ships as a 2-pack containing one green and one purple adapter so you can colour-code keyboard and mouse connections.

What does the 44 x 20 mm size mean for everyday use?

At 44 mm long and 20 mm wide the adapter adds only 1.73 x 0.79 inch to the USB port, keeping adjacent ports free and fitting easily in a laptop bag.

Is the USB-A male to female interface limited to USB 2.0 speeds?

The adapter provides a passive USB-A male to female connection for keyboards and mice; it carries the signals the host and device negotiate without adding active circuitry.
