Nomaco Kflex 1-3/8" Elbow Fitting

This Nomaco Kflex elastomeric elbow fitting insulates 90-degree pipe bends with a 1-3/8 inch inside diameter. The closed-cell Buna-N rubber and PVC material provides an R-value of 5.2 for thermal control. It is designed for pipe sizes of 1 inch and tube outside diameters of 1-3/8 inches.

Replaces damaged or missing elbow insulation

The fitting upgrades from bare pipe or degraded wrap on 90-degree bends where condensation or heat loss occurs. The jump is worth it when operating temperatures range from -297 to 220 degrees Fahrenheit and a plenum-rated, antimicrobial barrier is required. It fits unslit installations without cutting the insulation length.

Limited to 1-inch pipe size and 90-degree form

The 3/4 inch wall thickness and fixed 90-degree form cannot adapt to straight runs, other angles or different pipe diameters. The flame spread index of 25 meets plenum codes but does not suit higher fire-rating demands. Buyers needing other sizes, angles or thicknesses cannot use this fitting.

Questions about this item

What inside diameter and wall thickness does the 90-degree elbow fitting require for the pipe?

The fitting is built for a 1 3/8 in inside diameter and a 3/4 in wall thickness.

How is the unslit elastomeric elbow installed, and what step is often missed?

Slide the unslit elbow over the pipe before the joint is made, then seal the seam with compatible adhesive; skipping the adhesive leaves a thermal bridge.

What temperature range and antimicrobial property should be checked during periodic inspection?

Verify the insulation still handles -297 to 220 °F and that the antimicrobial, flame-retardant surface shows no degradation.
