Product Identity

The Nomaco Kflex 801-LRE-100078 is a 90-degree elastomeric elbow fitting designed for pipe insulation. It uses Buna-N rubber and PVC construction with a closed-cell foam structure for thermal protection on 1/2-inch piping systems.

Suitable Applications

This fitting suits installers needing plenum-rated insulation with antimicrobial and flame-retardant properties for temperatures between -297 and 220 degrees Fahrenheit. It is not intended for unsupported structural loads, high-vibration mechanical joints, or systems requiring slit-wrap installation without adhesive.

Installation Notes

The unslit form requires the fitting to be slid over the tube before final connection or cut and sealed on site. Compression at the 90-degree bend can reduce wall thickness if forced into tight radii, and adhesive selection must be compatible with Buna-N rubber to maintain vapour sealing.

Questions about this item

What pipe outside diameter must I already have for the 7/8" fitting to seat correctly?

The elbow is sized for a 7/8 in tube outside diameter and a 1/2 in nominal pipe size, so the existing copper or steel line must measure 7/8 in OD.

Will the 1 in wall thickness and closed-cell foam stay flexible when I route it beside older rigid foam sections?

The Buna-N rubber/PVC blend remains flexible at the rated temperatures and the closed-cell structure resists moisture, letting it bend alongside stiffer legacy insulation without cracking.

How can I confirm the elbow meets the required fire rating once installed?

Check that the black jacket shows the UL 94 marking and the flame spread index of 25; the plenum rating and antimicrobial treatment are also moulded into the material for visual verification.
