SKU CH-SYPP-NCFEV

Tee pipe fitting insulation made from Buna-N rubber and PVC with a 1/2 in wall thickness and plenum rating

  • Product typeTarps
  • Elastomeric tee insulation fits 2 in pipe tee
  • Closed-cell Buna-N/PVC foam resists moisture and microbial growth
  • Operates from -297 °F to 220 °F
  • UL 94 rated with flame spread index 25
  • Plenum rated for use in air-handling spaces

2" Tee Insulation for 1½" Pipe

This elastomeric tee fitting insulation is made from Buna-N rubber blended with PVC. It fits a 2 inch outside diameter tube and is sized for a 1½ inch pipe. The unslit design requires cutting during installation. It is suited for mechanical contractors insulating branch connections on hot or cold piping systems.

Closed-Cell Foam Holds R-3 from -297 to 220 °F

The closed-cell structure delivers an R-value of 3 across a continuous range of -297 to 220 degrees Fahrenheit. Antimicrobial protection resists mould growth in damp environments. Flexibility is retained at low temperatures so the material does not crack during thermal cycling. The foam meets a flame spread index of 25 and UL 94 requirements for plenum-rated installations.

Replaces Taped Wrap on Branch Fittings

The pre-formed tee shape eliminates the labour of cutting and taping sheet insulation around three-way junctions. The jump is worth it when consistent thickness, fire rating and vapour barrier integrity are specified. It is not for installers who need a slit product for retrofit over existing pipe without disassembly.

Questions about this item

Does the 220 °F maximum temperature limit mean the fitting insulation adds noticeable heat to the pipe run?

The closed-cell Buna-N rubber/PVC construction resists heat transfer; at its 220 °F upper limit it insulates rather than radiates additional warmth, keeping the surrounding area close to ambient.

What pipe size and fitting style must already be in place for the 2 in inside diameter tee to fit?

It is designed for 1 1/2 in nominal pipe with a 2 in outside diameter tee, unslit so the joint slides over the fitting during installation.

Will the UL 94 flame spread index of 25 and antimicrobial resistance remain effective when paired with older metal tees?

The plenum-rated foam retains its 25 flame spread rating and antimicrobial properties regardless of the adjoining metal, provided the insulation fully covers the tee.
