Leica Thread to Balpro 1 Adapter

The NovoFlex PROLEI adapter connects lenses with Leica thread mount to the Balpro 1 camera system. It is built for photographers who need to use legacy manual-focus glass on this specific platform. The all-metal construction ensures a secure, light-tight fit without play. It does not transmit electronic signals or autofocus data.

Mechanical precision under repeated mounting

The adapter relies on a tight tolerance thread and bayonet interface that resists wear from frequent lens changes. Its brass and aluminium components maintain flange-distance accuracy over extended use, preventing focus shift that looser adapters introduce. There are no moving parts or aperture levers to jam, so reliability stays consistent in studio or field conditions.

Direct screw-on installation with no tools

The Leica-thread side screws onto the lens rear element; the Balpro 1 side locks with a standard bayonet twist. Cross-threading is the only common issue — start the threads by hand and turn slowly until seated. The adapter adds no electrical contacts, so EXIF data and aperture control remain unavailable; exposure must be set manually on the camera body.

Questions about this item

Does the adapter generate any heat or noise during extended use?

This is a passive mechanical adapter with no electronic components, so it produces no heat and no audible noise during all-day shooting.

Which lens mount and camera mount must I already own for this adapter to work?

You need lenses with Leica Thread Mount and a camera or accessory that accepts the Novoflex Balpro 1 bayonet.

Will my existing Leica Thread Mount lenses focus to infinity when mounted via this adapter on the Balpro 1 system?

Yes, the adapter is machined to the correct flange distance so Leica Thread Mount lenses reach infinity focus on the Balpro 1 bayonet.
