48 V DC desktop power supply

This Mean Well DRS-240 unit delivers 48 VDC at 5 A for a total of 240 W. It accepts a universal AC input range of 90 to 305 VAC at 47 to 63 Hz and fits a desktop server chassis. The built-in battery charge circuit supports uninterrupted operation for security or telecom equipment.

Suits installers needing a single 48 V rail

Technicians powering PoE switches, IP camera arrays or access-control panels from one compact supply will find the voltage and current match. Buyers who require multiple output voltages or a hot-swap redundant configuration should consider other options.

48 VDC fixed output voltage

The supply provides only a 48 V rail, so the connected load must operate at that exact voltage. Verify that every device in the system is rated for 48 VDC before installation.

Questions about this item

What input voltage range can this chassis accept for continuous operation?

The unit operates from 90 VAC up to 305 VAC, covering most global mains supplies without manual switching.

How much heat and noise should I expect when the supply runs at full load all day?

The 240 W rating at 48 VDC and 5 A means sustained output of 240 watts; fan noise and case temperature will reflect that continuous dissipation.

What mounting hardware must I already have to install this desktop chassis?

It is a desktop-form-factor unit, so you need a flat surface or shelf with enough clearance for the enclosure and its ventilation openings.
