UC-series housing compatibility limits

The bearing matches the UC215 envelope, so it only fits housings machined to the same 130 mm outside diameter and 34 mm width; wider or narrower pillow blocks will not accept it. Load ratings and speed limits follow the UC215 catalogue values, so applications exceeding those figures require a different bearing series.

Installation notes and common issues

Press the bearing onto the shaft using a sleeve that contacts the inner ring only; hammer blows on the outer ring or housing will brinell the raceways. Tighten the set screws to the manufacturer’s torque value and re-check after the first run-in period, as loose screws are the most frequent cause of premature failure. Builders needing a different bore size or a sealed-for-life unit cannot use this insert.
