It connects through a PCI Express 5.0 x16 slot and uses an OSFP optical interface to deliver 400 Gbit/s InfiniBand or 400 GbE throughput. The half-height, half-length bracket fits dense server chassis.

Capacity and headroom

The adapter defaults to InfiniBand NDR at 400 Gbit/s using four 100 Gbit/s lanes and also negotiates NDR200, HDR, EDR, FDR and SDR speeds. On the Ethernet side it steps down through 200, 100, 50, 40, 10 and 1 Gb/s. PCIe Gen 5.0 SERDES at 32 GT/s across 16 lanes provides the bus headroom; Gen 4.0 at 16 GT/s and Gen 3.0 remain compatible.
