Olympus WS-882 Digital Voice Recorder

The Olympus WS-882 is a compact digital voice recorder with 4GB of internal memory. It captures stereo audio using two directional microphones arranged at a 90-degree layout. The device records in MP3 or Linear PCM formats and includes a Low-Cut Filter to reduce noise below 300 Hz. It is designed for professionals and students who need clear recordings for meetings, interviews, or personal notes.

Upgrade from basic mono recorders

This model replaces single-microphone recorders that cannot capture spatial audio or filter low-frequency hum. The jump is worth it when you need true stereo separation to distinguish speakers in a room or when background noise from air conditioning makes mono recordings hard to understand. The Intelligent Auto Mode also removes the need to manually set gain levels for different room sizes.

Suits interviewers and lecture attendees

It suits anyone who records conversations, lectures, or memos and values simple file transfer via the built-in USB-A 2.0 connector. Battery life reaches 110 hours on two AAA cells for long sessions away from power. Buyers who need more than 1040 hours of total storage or who require wireless file transfer should look at other options.
