What this projector is and who it suits

The Optoma ZK521ST is a 4K short-throw laser projector built for home theatre rooms where the unit must sit close to the screen. It uses DLP technology to deliver a 16:9 image and comes with a remote control, two AAA batteries, a power cord and a quick-start guide. Wall-mountable hardware is included so installers can fix it flush to a ceiling or wall.

What to check on your existing setup before ordering

Verify that the mounting surface can hold the projector securely and that a mains outlet is reachable from the chosen position. The short-throw lens demands a precise distance-to-screen ratio, so measure the available throw space against the manual's range. Confirm your video sources provide a compatible 4K signal over the interfaces the unit actually offers.

How it behaves under sustained load

The laser light source maintains consistent brightness across long viewing sessions without the colour shift or dimming typical of lamp-based models. Because the engine runs without a replaceable lamp, there is no warm-up flicker or cool-down delay between uses. The sealed DLP optical block resists dust ingress, preserving contrast and colour accuracy during extended operation.

The box contains the projector, an AC power cord, a remote control and two AAA batteries plus a quick-start manual so nothing extra is required to begin using it.

How does the 4 100 lumen rating on the ZK521ST compare with the 4 100 lumen ZK431ST when choosing between them?

Both models list 4 100 lumens; the ZK521ST is the newer 4K short-throw unit while the ZK431ST is an earlier 4K short-throw model with the same brightness specification.

What does the 4 100 lumen figure mean for actual viewing in a living room with some ambient light?
