Compact WXGA laser projector

The OPTOMA ZW350e is a 4000-lumen WXGA DLP laser projector built for business environments that need bright, maintenance-free operation. Its DuraCore laser light source is rated for 30,000 hours without lamp changes. The unit is up to 34% smaller than previous Optoma models and includes an external power supply for added portability. IP6X certification protects the optical engine from dust ingress.

Thermals noise and power

DuraCore laser technology reduces power consumption by up to 45% compared to Optoma’s lamp-based projectors, lowering heat output and fan noise during normal use. The mercury-free light source supports continuous operation with minimal maintenance requirements. An external power supply moves a heat-generating component outside the main chassis, further improving thermal management and energy efficiency. Eco-friendly packaging uses up to 97% recyclable materials.

Installation flexibility and connectivity

A 1.1x zoom lens and throw ratio of 1.54:1 to 1.72:1 allow image sizes from 20 to 300 inches diagonal at distances of 39.37 to 393.7 inches. Vertical keystone correction of ±40° and 360-degree plus portrait projection modes simplify placement on ceilings, tables or walls. The projector accepts 4:3 and 16:9 signals alongside its native 16:10 aspect ratio. Horizontal refresh rates of 15 to 140 kHz and vertical rates of 24 to 120 Hz cover a wide range of source devices.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the 1.1x zoom and 1.54:1–1.72:1 throw ratio for a 1280 x 800 image?

Place the projector 39.37" to 393.7" from the screen, then adjust the 1.1x zoom ring until the 1280 x 800 picture fills the desired width; the step people miss is re-checking vertical keystone after moving the unit.

What maintenance does the DuraCore laser light source need over its 30,000-hour life?

The IP6X-sealed laser engine is rated for 30,000 hours maintenance-free; only the external air filters require periodic cleaning, and no lamp replacement is needed.

At what point does the 4,000-lumen brightness drop noticeably during long sessions?

Brightness is specified to last the full 30,000-hour laser life; the first practical limit under sustained use is the 24–120 Hz vertical refresh range, which caps motion smoothness for high-frame-rate content.
