Compact 1 TB portable SSD with 10 Gbps USB

The Orico 1 TB external SSD delivers read speeds up to 1050 MB/s over a USB 10 Gbps connection. A short 2-in-1 USB-C and USB-A cable is included for plug-and-play use with Windows, macOS, Android and iOS devices. An aluminium-alloy enclosure aids heat dissipation during extended transfers. A built-in hook attaches to a belt loop or backpack strap for secure carry.

Suited to mobile workers

Professionals who move large project files between laptops, tablets and phones will benefit from the compact 5.19 x 1.33 x 0.74 in form factor and 0.22 lb weight. The drive is less appropriate for users who require capacities beyond 1 TB or who need sustained write performance for continuous high-bitrate video capture. Buyers wanting a drive without a protruding hook or cable should consider other form factors.

1050 MB/s maximum read speed

This single figure determines whether the drive can keep up with your workflow. If your tasks involve transferring multi-gigabyte assets and you need them moved in seconds rather than minutes, the 1050 MB/s ceiling meets that requirement. For workloads demanding higher sustained throughput, an internal or higher-specification external drive would be necessary.

Questions about this item

What type of port does my device need to use the included 2-in-1 cable with this Orico 1TB portable SSD?

The supplied cable provides both USB-C and USB-A connectors, so your computer, phone or tablet only needs one of those standard USB ports to work immediately.

Will the aluminum alloy enclosure of this drive run hot when connected to an older USB 3.0 port?

The aluminum body acts as a heatsink; even at the 1050 MB/s maximum read speed the drive stays cool during extended transfers on legacy ports.

How can I verify the drive is delivering its rated performance after I plug it in?

Copy a 1 GB file to the SSD — if it completes in roughly one second you are seeing the advertised 1050 MB/s read speed.
