Portable SSD for mobile workflows

The Orico M25PRO 128GB external solid-state drive connects via USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C at up to 5 Gbps. It is compatible with Windows, Linux, Mac OS and Android devices. The 2-in-1 cable provides both USB-C and USB-A plugs for direct attachment to laptops, tablets or smartphones without extra adapters.

Thermal and power profile

The compact alloy body measures 4.92 x 3.14 x 0.51 inches and dissipates heat passively during sustained transfers up to 460 MB/s. No moving parts mean silent operation. Power is drawn entirely from the host port, so no external supply is required for typical workloads.

Build integration

The drive adds pocketable storage for backups, media offloads or project files on the go. The diamond-grain finish resists dust and minor drops. The included 2-in-1 cable frees you from carrying separate leads for Type-A and Type-C hosts. Buyers needing capacities above 128GB or sustained speeds beyond 460 MB/s should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the M25PRO to a USB-A port, and which step do people miss?

Use the included 2-in-1 cable by plugging the USB-C end into the drive and the USB-A adapter into the computer; the step people miss is ensuring the adapter clicks fully into the cable so the 5Gbps link is active.

What part of the M25PRO will need replacement first under heavy daily writes?

The internal NAND flash cells wear out over time; at 128GB capacity the drive will reach its write endurance limit sooner than larger models, so plan to replace the whole unit when speeds drop.

At what point does the M25PRO hit its speed ceiling during a long transfer?

The USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface caps sustained throughput at 460MB/s, so once the cache fills the drive cannot exceed that limit regardless of file size.
