Portable SATA enclosure for 2.5" drives

The Orico 2526C3 houses a single 2.5-inch SATA HDD or SSD up to 4TB and connects via USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C at 5Gbps. It suits laptop users who need external storage without an AC adapter and works with Windows, macOS and Linux.

Tool-free installation with Type-C cable

A slide-open plastic shell accepts 7–9.5mm thick drives and requires no screws or tools; a 0.4m USB Type-A to Type-C cable is included. The SATA 3.0 bridge chip supports UASP for lower latency, though the short cable can limit placement on desktop towers.

Sustained transfer with smart hibernation

Under continuous load the enclosure maintains the 5Gbps link while the SATA 3.0 controller manages queue depth through UASP. After 10 minutes of inactivity it enters hibernation to reduce wear and power draw, then resumes on next access without manual intervention.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the Orico 2526C3 is working after connecting my 2.5" SATA drive?

The drive should appear in your OS file explorer and the enclosure LED will light up; if idle for 10 minutes it enters hibernation to save power.

What comes in the box with the Orico 2526C3 and what must I buy separately?

The enclosure and a 0.4m USB Type-A to Type-C cable are included; you must supply your own 2.5" SATA HDD or SSD up to 4TB.

Which capacity version of the Orico 2526C3 should I choose for a 4TB drive?

The single-bay model supports up to 4TB per bay, so this version covers any 7–9.5mm thick 2.5" SATA drive within that limit.
