Four-bay USB 3.0 direct-attached storage

The Orico DAS Pro 98 Series 9858RU3 is a four-bay enclosure for 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or SSDs. It connects to a host via USB 3.0 and includes a 150W internal power supply. An 80mm fan and aluminium body provide active cooling for sustained operation.

Suited to high-capacity JBOD storage

This unit suits users who need up to 88TB of raw capacity across four independent drives without a hardware RAID controller. It is not for buyers who want integrated RAID levels, nor for systems that lack a USB 3.0 port capable of 5Gbps signalling.

Maximum capacity per bay is 22TB

Each bay accepts a single SATA drive up to 22TB, setting the total ceiling at 88TB when all four bays are populated. Exceeding that per-bay limit is not supported by the enclosure design.

Questions about this item

Which SATA drives do I need to fill the four bays?

Any 3.5-inch SATA HDD or SSD up to 22TB per bay will fit; the enclosure accepts four drives for a total of 88TB.

Will my existing 3.5-inch SATA drives work with the USB 3.0 connection?

Yes, the USB 3.0 interface matches the SATA 5Gbps spec and delivers up to 235MB/s with legacy drives.

How can I confirm the enclosure is running correctly after I install the drives?

The 80mm fan spins, the front and rear vents exhaust warm air, the safety locks click shut, and each drive appears at full capacity over USB 3.0.
