Lets two computers share two USB 3.0 peripherals with a single button and LED indicators
The Orico HS2-B1 lets two computers share a pair of USB 3.0 peripherals with a single button press. It suits home-office users, streamers or small labs that switch a keyboard, mouse, printer or scanner between a desktop and a laptop without unplugging cables. No drivers are required on Windows, macOS or Linux, so setup takes seconds.
The switch draws power from the connected computers and has no fan, so it runs silently and adds negligible load to either USB port. LED indicators show which system is active at a glance. Data moves at up to 5 Gbps over USB 3.0, keeping printer output and scanner transfers fast during normal use.
A sturdy plastic housing survives daily desk use and travels easily in a laptop bag. Two upstream ports connect the computers; two downstream ports accept peripherals directly or through a powered hub for extra devices. The single toggle button is recessed to prevent accidental switching while typing or moving the unit.

Connect each computer to the two upstream ports using USB 3.0 cables, then plug your keyboard and mouse into the two downstream ports. The step people miss is pressing the single front button to actually switch control between the two connected computers.
The unit has no moving parts or user-serviceable components, so it requires no scheduled maintenance. If the USB 3.0 cables or the switch button fail after extended use, you would replace the whole switch rather than individual parts.
The USB 3.0 interface caps sustained throughput at 5 Gbps, so heavy simultaneous traffic from both downstream devices will hit that bandwidth ceiling before any thermal or switching limit is reached.
