Aluminium enclosure turns M.2 SATA or NVMe SSDs up to 2280 into a portable USB-C 10Gbps drive with included C-to-A and C-to-C cables
Color Rose Gold
Size M.2 NGFF SSD
Model USB 3.2 Gen2 (6Gbps)
The Orico M.2 SATA NGFF enclosure turns a single SATA or NVMe B+M key SSD into a portable USB-C drive. It accepts 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors and ships with a dual-headed cable offering USB-C to A and USB-C to C connections. An aluminium shell with a thermal pad and cooling vest handles heat dissipation. The unit is finished in rose gold.
This enclosure suits users who want to access SATA NGFF or B+M key NVMe SSDs over USB-C on laptops, phones, tablets or game consoles. It will not work with M-key only NVMe drives, so buyers needing PCIe x4 M-key support should look elsewhere. The single-bay design also means it cannot accommodate two drives at once.
The external USB-C port runs at USB 3.2 Gen 2 10 Gbps and is backward compatible with USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.0. With a SATA SSD installed, sequential speeds reach 500 MB/s; with a compatible NVMe SSD they reach 1000 to 1200 MB/s. This bandwidth ceiling is the deciding factor for whether the enclosure matches your performance needs.

Slide the SSD into the M.2 slot at an angle, press it flat, and secure it with the supplied screw; the step often missed is placing the silicone thermal pad on the drive before closing the aluminum shell.
The silicone thermal pad between the SSD and the aluminum cooling vest can dry out or lose contact over time and should be replaced to maintain heat transfer.
The SATA 6 Gbps interface caps sequential throughput at about 500 MB/s, so that ceiling is reached before the USB 3.2 Gen 2 10 Gbps link becomes a bottleneck.
