Upgrade Drive for Desktop and Laptop

The Orico S500PRO is a 2.5 inch SATA solid-state drive built for desktop and laptop upgrades. It replaces a mechanical hard drive with no cable changes and fits standard drive bays in both form factors. The aluminium shell helps the drive run cool inside tight chassis.

Capacity and Interface Match

This unit provides 128 GB of storage over a SATA III connection. The SATA protocol limits sequential throughput to the bus maximum, so the drive delivers up to 550 MB/s reads and 480 MB/s writes. Confirm your system has a free SATA port and 2.5 inch bay before purchase.

Thermals and Power in Use

The metal casing acts as a heatsink, keeping temperatures steady during sustained file transfers. With no moving parts the drive is silent and draws less power than a hard disk, which helps laptop battery life. Power-loss protection guards data if the system shuts down unexpectedly.

Questions about this item

How fast will the 550 MB/s read speed actually make my laptop boot and open apps?

The 550 MB/s sequential read and 480 MB/s write speeds slash boot and load times compared to a mechanical drive, so the system feels responsive during everyday tasks.

What does the SATA III interface mean for real-world transfer limits?

SATA III caps practical throughput at the drive’s rated 550 MB/s read and 480 MB/s write, so you will not exceed those figures even on a faster port.

Will the 2.5 inch aluminium case fit my laptop’s drive bay or a desktop caddy?

The standard 2.5 inch form factor with an aluminium shell fits any laptop or desktop bay designed for 2.5 inch SATA drives.
