1TB 2.5" SATA SSD

The Orico Y20 is a 1TB internal solid-state drive built on 3D NAND and a SATA III 6Gbps interface. It fits the standard 2.5-inch bay found in desktops, laptops and all-in-one PCs. Sequential reads reach 500MB/s and writes reach 450MB/s. The drive supports SMART, NCQ, Trim and advanced power management for data integrity.

Upgrade for SATA systems, not NVMe slots

This drive suits users replacing a mechanical hard drive or adding capacity to a SATA-only motherboard. It will not work in an M.2 NVMe slot because the protocol is SATA, not PCIe. Buyers needing NVMe speeds or an M.2 form factor should choose a different model.

1TB capacity with SATA headroom

One terabyte holds an operating system, applications and a large media library with room to spare. The SATA III link caps sustained transfers at 500MB/s read and 450MB/s write, so heavy sequential workloads will saturate the bus. Random I/O remains far faster than a hard drive for everyday responsiveness.

Questions about this item

Will this drive fit a standard 2.5-inch SATA bay in my laptop or desktop?

Yes, the 2.5-inch form factor and SATA III interface match the standard drive bay found in most laptops, desktops and all-in-one PCs.

Do I need any extra cables or mounting hardware to install it?

The package includes a screwdriver and one screw; you will still need a SATA data cable and a SATA power connector from your system.

What do the 500 MB/s read and 450 MB/s write speeds mean for everyday use?

They deliver much faster boot times, application launches and file transfers than a mechanical hard drive while staying within the SATA III bandwidth limit.
