SKU CH-EFBG-XQWW3

10G SFP+ transceiver for 850nm multimode fibre up to 300m with DOM monitoring

  • Product typeSfp+
  • 3125 Gbps data rate for high-speed 10G networks
  • 850 nm VCSEL transmitter optimised for short-range fibre links
  • 300 m reach on OM3 and 400 m on OM4 multimode cable
  • 8 dB power budget maintains reliable link margins
  • Duplex LC connector with DOM support enables real-time monitoring

10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver for short-reach

This SFP+ module delivers 10.3125 Gbps over 850 nm multimode fibre with a duplex LC connector. It targets network engineers extending 10 Gigabit Ethernet links inside data-centre racks or campus buildings using OM3 or OM4 cable.

VCSEL transmitter and PIN receiver with 3.8 dB

The VCSEL emitter operates between -7.3 and -1 dBm while the PIN photodiode requires better than -11.1 dBm sensitivity. Duplex LC patch cords plug directly into the module, so rack-density patch panels stay tidy and polarity changes are simple.

Confirm OM3 or OM4 fibre

Maximum reach is 300 m on OM3 and 400 m on OM4; longer runs need different optics. Ensure the host switch or router accepts third-party SFP+ modules and that the port speed is configured for 10 GBASE-SR operation.

Questions about this item

What maximum link distance does the SFP+ 10GBASE-SR module support over OM3 and OM4 multimode fibre?

The module reaches 300 metres on OM3 and 400 metres on OM4 fibre at 10.3125 Gbps.

What connector type and fibre patch cords are required for the Duplex LC interface on this transceiver?

It uses a Duplex LC/UPC connector; you need standard duplex LC multimode patch cords (OM3 or OM4) to match the 850 nm VCSEL transmitter.

How is the SFP+ transceiver installed in a switch or server, and which orientation mistake is most common?

Slide the module into an SFP+ cage until the latch clicks; the common error is inserting it upside-down so the bail latch faces the wrong way.
