Other Electricities

Other Electricities SFP+ 10GBASE-T RJ-45 30m Copper Transceiver

SKU CH-FQ45-SZTVR

An SFP+ copper transceiver delivering 10 Gbps over RJ-45 up to 30 metres on Cat6a or Cat7, using 2.9 W and rated for 0 to 70 °C

  • Product typeRack Enclosure
  • 10 Gbps throughput over copper cabling
  • Reaches 30 m on Cat6a or Cat7 cable
  • Low 2.9 W power draw per module
  • Operates from 0 to 70 °C commercial range
  • Built to SFP+ MSA and IEEE 802.3 standards

10GBASE-T SFP+ Copper Transceiver

This SFP+ transceiver delivers 10 Gbps over copper cabling using an RJ-45 connector. It is designed for network administrators upgrading switch or server ports to 10 Gigabit Ethernet within existing Cat6a or Cat7 infrastructure. The module operates across a commercial temperature range of 0 to 70°C.

30m Reach on Cat6a or Cat7

The 30 metre distance rating applies only when the link uses Cat6a, Cat7 or better cabling. Shorter or lower-grade cables will not support the full 10 Gbps rate. Power consumption is 2.9 W and the module complies with SFP+ MSA, SFF-8431, IEEE 802.3an and IEEE 802.3az specifications.

SFP+ Form Factor and RJ-45 Connector

Compatibility depends on the host device accepting an SFP+ module with an RJ-45 copper interface. Switches or NICs that require optical SFP+ transceivers or fixed RJ-45 ports cannot use this module. Buyers needing fibre connectivity or longer copper reach must select a different transceiver type.

Questions about this item

Will the SFP+ transceiver need replacement before its rated MTBF of 5,000,000 hours?

The module is rated for 5,000,000 hours MTBF under commercial temperature range 0 to 70°C, so replacement is unlikely during typical service life.

What limits sustained throughput on the 10GBASE-T RJ-45 link?

The 10 Gbps maximum data rate and 30 m reach over Cat6a or Cat7 cabling set the practical throughput ceiling.

How much heat and power does the 2.9 W transceiver add when running continuously?

At 2.9 W power consumption within the 0 to 70°C operating range, heat output is modest and fits standard SFP+ cage cooling.
