A 16 GB DDR3 1066 MHz CL7 SO-DIMM kit for 2010 Mac mini, MacBook and MacBook Pro 13″ models
Capacity 16GB (2 x 8GB)
This 16 GB kit contains two 8 GB DDR3 1066 MHz SO-DIMMs built to the PC3-8500 standard with CL7 latency. The modules are unbuffered, non-ECC and run at 1.5 V, matching the factory specification for the listed Apple models.
The kit targets users upgrading a Mac mini 2010, MacBook 2010 or 13-inch MacBook Pro 2010 to the maximum supported memory. It is not suitable for systems that require a different form factor, voltage or memory technology than the 204-pin DDR3 SO-DIMM described here.
Each module uses the 204-pin SO-DIMM layout that fits the memory slots in the compatible 2010 Mac notebooks and Mac mini. Verify that your system accepts this exact pin count and DDR3 voltage before purchasing.

Power off, remove the bottom case, release the side clips, insert each 8GB module at an angle until the gold contacts disappear, then press down firmly until both clips click — the step most often missed is pressing hard enough to engage both clips.
No scheduled maintenance is required; the modules are solid-state with no moving parts and carry a lifetime warranty, so replacement is only needed if a module fails.
The memory controller caps bandwidth at 1066MHz, so throughput plateaus there regardless of load duration; thermals on the SO-DIMMs stay within spec at 1.5V.
