Adds 16 GB of DDR3L 1600 ECC registered memory to Dell PowerEdge M610, M610X, M710 and M710HD servers
Capacity 16GB (2 x 8GB)
This 16 GB kit contains two 8 GB DDR3L registered DIMMs built for Dell PowerEdge M610, M610X, M710 and M710HD blade servers. It is designed for workstation and server platforms that require ECC registered memory and will not work in standard desktop computers or alongside unbuffered modules.
Running at 1.35 V and DDR3L 1600 (PC3L-12800) with CL11 latency, the modules draw less power than standard DDR3 while meeting JEDEC specifications. The registered buffer reduces electrical load on the memory controller, helping maintain signal integrity in dense blade chassis without adding a heat spreader.
Each module uses the 240-pin RDIMM form factor required by the target PowerEdge blades, freeing DIMM slots for further expansion within the system's supported population rules. The kit replaces Dell part numbers A7134886, A7545680, RKR5J and SNPRKR5JC/8G, letting administrators extend the service life of existing M610 and M710 platforms.

Power down the server, open the chassis, align each module’s notch with the DIMM slot key, press firmly until the ejector tabs click, then verify in BIOS that all 16 GB are detected at 1600 MHz with ECC active.
No routine maintenance is required; if a module fails, OWC’s limited lifetime advanced-replacement program covers a direct swap, and firmware updates on the M610 or M710 may improve compatibility.
The memory controller’s maximum supported frequency of 1600 MHz and the fixed CL11 latency become the bottleneck before thermal throttling, since the modules have no heat spreaders.
