16 GB DDR3L ECC registered dual-rank kit for Cisco UCS C24, C240 and C420 M3 servers
This OWC kit provides 16 GB of DDR3L registered ECC memory in two 8 GB modules. It is built for Cisco UCS C24 M3, C240 M3 and C420 M3 servers that require 240-pin DDR3L 1600 RDIMMs.
The modules suit administrators extending the life of the listed Cisco UCS platforms or building replacement nodes. They will not work in standard desktop PCs, consumer laptops or any system that takes unbuffered or load-reduced DIMMs.
Each DIMM uses a 2Rx4 registered ECC design at 1.35 V and CL11 latency. This specific combination of registration, rank geometry and voltage decides whether the memory will post in the target Cisco UCS servers.

Other versions of this model
The 16GB kit provides two matched 8GB modules for dual-channel operation, which the C240 M3 supports; a single module would run in single-channel mode and halve memory bandwidth.
It runs at 1600 MT/s with 11-cycle latency at 1.35V, giving the C420 M3 its maximum supported memory speed and ECC error correction for data integrity.
Each 240-pin slot accepts one registered DIMM; the C24 M3 has 24 slots, so the practical ceiling is the number of slots multiplied by the largest qualified RDIMM density.
