48 GB DDR3 1333 MHz ECC registered 6×8 GB kit for 2009-2012 Mac Pro models
Capacity 48GB (6 x 8GB)
This 48GB kit contains six 8GB DDR3 1333MHz ECC Registered DIMMs built for Mac Pro models from 2009 to 2012. It targets owners of MacPro4,1 and MacPro5,1 systems who need the maximum supported capacity. The modules operate at 1.5v with a CL9 latency rating.
These 240-pin DIMMs are ECC Registered and must not be mixed with Unbuffered ECC modules already installed. The Mac Pro will not boot if the two types are combined. Backwards compatibility extends to PC3-8500 1066MHz Mac Pro models. The kit is not designed for typical desktop PCs.
Standard DDR3 1.5v operation keeps power draw and heat output modest inside the Mac Pro chassis. Registered buffers add slight electrical load but improve signal integrity at full population. No active cooling is required beyond the system's standard airflow.

Other versions of this model
The kit provides 48 GB across six registered DIMMs; each 8 GB module carries its own register, so the registered buffer limit is reached when all slots are populated.
Each module operates at the standard 1.5 V DDR3 voltage; registered DIMMs typically run slightly warmer than unbuffered parts, but no specific thermal or power figures are published.
Compatible models are MacPro4,1 (Early 2009) and MacPro5,1 (Mid 2010 through Mid 2012); the kit will not boot in other systems.
