Product identity

Pacon 72230 is a pack of lightweight origami paper containing 55 sheets in assorted bright colours. It is aimed at hobbyists, teachers and students who need a ready supply of square sheets for folding projects. The paper is sold new and listed as common paper by the manufacturer.

Handling characteristics

At 30 lbs the sheets are thin enough to take multiple creases without cracking, yet sturdy enough to hold a shape during complex folds. The light weight keeps the stack easy to store and transport, and the material produces minimal dust when handled. No power, cooling or noise considerations apply to this product.

Pack contents

The pack delivers exactly 55 pre-cut squares so users can start folding immediately without trimming larger sheets. Assorted bright colours are included in the same pack, removing the need to buy separate colour packs for variety. No additional tools, software or accessories are bundled with the paper.

Questions about this item

How do I prepare the 30 lb origami paper for complex folds without cracking?

The lightweight 30 lb sheets fold cleanly when you score the crease line first with a bone folder or fingernail; rushing the first fold is the step most people get wrong and causes tearing.

Will the assorted bright colors in the 55-sheet pack fade if models are displayed long-term?

Standard origami paper is not lightfast; colours will gradually shift under UV exposure, so keep finished pieces away from direct sunlight or frame behind UV-filtering glass.

At what point does the 9-3/4 inch square size limit the complexity of a single-sheet model?

The fixed 9-3/4 inch dimension restricts the number of grid subdivisions you can achieve; highly detailed models requiring many layers become too thick to manipulate cleanly.
